PRA to be sold, but remains in private equity

PRA International has confirmed that it will be changing ownership later this year, when its current owners, private equity firm Genstar Capital sell it to fellow investment firm KKR.

Genstar acquired PRA in a take-private transaction in 2007 for $797 million. The financial details of the new transaction have not been confirmed, but the Wall Street Journal reports a figure around $1.3 billion. Genstar had previously taken the company public in 2004, after buying it for around $95 million in 2001.
